We especially seek and strive to:
- Reflect Jesus’ love for all people, especially the most vulnerable and marginalized through authentic engagement with the communities we serve;
- Pay attention with sensitivity to every individual’s cultural narrative and the possible influence of our actions, words, prayers and praise;
- Have courageous conversations amid difference; and
- Uphold the values of diversity and inclusion in our acts of social service, worship and communal life.
Welcome to the DEI Taskforce!
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Taskforce is our dedicated team working tirelessly to foster a truly diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment across our organization. Made up of staff members from all over the state, the DEI Taskforce convenes every month to brainstorm and implement critical initiatives.
Our Activities
Heritage Acknowledgement: We’ve commemorated holidays/religions and backgrounds by creating and disseminating informative newsletters.
Juneteenth: Based on extensive survey feedback, we successfully advocated for Juneteenth to become an official holiday for our organization.
DEI Training: We’re developing inclusive training materials.
First Fri-Yays: Each first Friday of the month, we recognize and celebrate special celebrations and events.
Stay tuned as our DEI Taskforce continues to advance inclusivity and diversity in each corner of our organization.
