FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
St. Petersburg, FL — Volunteers of America of Florida (VOA Florida) is expanding its community outreach through Project C.O.P.E. (Caring for Our People in Emergencies) with a new series of free Hurricane Recovery Workshops designed to support Pinellas County residents still feeling the emotional and practical effects of Hurricane Milton.
Project C.O.P.E. is made possible in collaboration with Central Florida Behavioral Health Network (CFBHN), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). Together, these partners are working to ensure residents receive accessible, compassionate support as they continue navigating post-storm recovery.
Workshop Offerings Include:
Grief Relief & Recovery After the Storm
Participants learn simple strategies to ease stress, regulate emotions, and support emotional healing after loss or displacement.
Improv for Mental Wellness
A creative, uplifting workshop using humor and improvisation to restore confidence, strengthen resilience, and encourage social connection.
WHO:
Open to all Pinellas County residents affected by Hurricane Milton.
