The Gainesville Bridge Program GPD provides short-term transitional housing for Veterans experiencing homelessness, offering a safe and stable environment while quickly facilitating their move into permanent housing. This Bridge Housing model focuses on minimizing homelessness and maximizing stability by providing Veterans with structured support, case management, and rapid connections to long-term housing solutions. Veterans may remain in the program for up to 90 days.

Designed as a crucial transition step, the program offers individualized guidance, access to community resources, and support aimed at helping each Veteran secure permanent, independent housing as quickly as possible. This outcomes-driven program prioritizes housing stability, wellness, and seamless reintegration into the community.

Who can qualify for this program?

  1. Must be 18 years or older
  2. Must be a veteran (meet applicable GPD Veteran Status and homeless definition)
  3. Must have a permanent housing intervention in place (HUD VASH, HUD (Section 8), or other permanent supportive housing (SSVF)

What are the requirements to remain in the program?

  1. Remain clean and sober
  2. Attend all medical and behavioral health appointments
  3. If applicable, pay program fee monthly
