Volunteers of America of Florida Partners with The Home Depot Foundation and Team Depot to Beautify Tarpon Village Apartments as Part of 2025 Celebration of Service

WHAT  Tampa, FL – [Date] – Volunteers of America of Florida (VOAF) is proud to announce its upcoming community revitalization project in partnership with The Home Depot Foundation and Team Depot, Home Depot’s associate volunteer force. The beautification event at Tarpon Village Apartments is scheduled for October 7, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and aligns with The Home Depot Foundation’s (THDF) annual Celebration of Service.

Tarpon Village Apartments provides affordable housing for low-income residents, including veterans and their families. As part of its ongoing commitment to those who served, THDF is partnering with hundreds of nonprofits and Team Depot to expand veteran access to safe, affordable housing. From Patriot Day to Veterans Day, Team Depot will complete service projects benefiting communities nationwide. Projects will create safer and more accessible homes for our nation’s heroes, through critical home repairs, smart home modifications, renovations to housing facilities and more. Their collaboration with VOAF at Tarpon Village exemplifies this mission by providing critical improvements that foster a comfortable and welcoming living space.

For more than 30 years, Team Depot has been making a difference in local communities thanks to dedicated Home Depot associates who give their time off to serve others and address the needs of their individual neighborhoods. Since 2011, The Home Depot Foundation has partnered with more than 10,000 nonprofits and volunteered more than 2.8 million hours to serve veterans, respond to natural disasters and address the immediate needs within local communities.

Giving back to veterans and their families is personal to The Home Depot, as tens of thousands of the company’s associates are veterans, active-duty service members or military spouses. Since 2011, the Foundation has invested more than $600 million in veteran causes and improved more than 65,000 veteran homes and facilities, with a commitment to grow that investment to $750 million by 2030 to ensure more of our nation’s heroes have access to a safe, comfortable place to call home.

A dedicated group of 25 to 30 Team Depot volunteers will work throughout the day to enhance the living environment with the following improvements:

  • Refurbishing and painting the playground swing set
  • Removing existing mulch from the playground and replacing it with durable rubber mulch
  • Power washing the entire parking lot to eliminate oil spots
  • Restriping parking spaces
  • Repainting curbs, speed bumps, and ramps
  • Mulching all landscaped islands throughout the parking areas

“This partnership with The Home Depot Foundation and Team Depot is a wonderful opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of our residents,” said Stephanie Vranich, VP of Development & Outreach at Volunteers of America of Florida. “We’re grateful for the dedication of the volunteers who will help transform Tarpon Village into a safer and more beautiful home for those who have served our country.”
