Since 2011, The Home Depot Foundation has given nearly $10 million to Volunteers of America to improve housing solutions for homeless veterans and their families. In addition, Team Depot, The Home Depot’s associate-led volunteer force, has completed countless projects in partnership with Volunteers of America affiliates across the country. Together, we have been able to refurbish or build housing for more than 2,500 homeless veterans and many of their family members.

Niagara Bottling

Family owned and operated since 1963, Niagara Bottling is the largest private label bottled water supplier in the United States. Niagara Bottling and their philanthropic division, Niagara Cares, is committed to supporting local and national community initiatives by engaging stakeholders and investing its resources for vulnerable children and their families. Cocoa Beach Elks Club, Lodge 2387

The Cocoa Beach Elks Club have partnered with the Volunteers of America of Florida Cocoa Program for over 10 years. Twice a year the Cocoa Beach Elks Club host cookouts for the Veterans at the Volunteers of America of Florida, Cocoa Program. The Cocoa Elks Club also supply needed items for the Veterans such as toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, dish soap, etc. For over two years the Elks have been taking homeless Veterans, who are graduating from the Volunteers of America of Florida Cocoa Program and moving into permanent housing, shopping at Dollar General under the Welcome Home Kits initiative. The shopping trip gives the Veterans a leg up and helps them to get what they need for their new home. It’s a beautiful way to enable a Veteran to have a fresh start.

On top of all of that, the Cocoa Beach Elks Club is also working on a plan to assist homeless Veterans with securing furniture. The support from the Cocoa Beach Elks Club is invaluable to both the Veterans and Volunteers of America of Florida. Volunteers of America of Florida is honored to have their partnership and to work together to positively change the lives of Veterans in need in Florida.
