Volunteers of America of Florida to Hold Grand Opening Celebration for Space Coast Commons Affordable Housing Development

Palm Bay, FL, Volunteers of America of Florida (VOAF) is hosting the grand opening of Space Coast Commons, a new 31-unit affordable housing development dedicated to providing safe, affordable homes for low-income families, individuals with special needs, and homeless households in Palm Bay. The celebration will take place on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 9:00 AM at Space Coast Commons, located at 1981 Convair St SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909.

Space Coast Commons represents a significant step forward in addressing the affordable housing crisis in Palm Bay. This new construction offers 1- and 2-bedroom single-family apartments.

The development provides permanent supportive housing specifically for individuals or families with special needs and those experiencing homelessness.

This project would not have been possible without the generous support of key funders:

  • City of Palm Bay
  • Florida Housing Finance Corporation
  • Steadytown

We also extend sincere thanks to critical partners who helped bring Space Coast Commons to fruition:

  • MH Williams Construction Group
  • Architectonics Studio, Inc.
  • Monroe Engineering
  • Trenam Law
  • The Housing Authority of Brevard County
  • Seltzer Management
  • On Solid Ground
  • Volunteers of America of Florida Board of Directors

“The completion of Space Coast Commons marks an important milestone in our mission to provide affordable, supportive housing options for those in need,” said Janet Stringfellow, CEO/President, Volunteers of America of Florida. “We are grateful to our funders and partners whose collaboration made this development a reality.”

The grand opening event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, welcoming remarks, and guided tours of the apartments. Community members, local officials, and supporters are encouraged to attend and celebrate this vital addition to affordable housing in Palm Bay.
